Many of you have subscribed to our news page at getaguru in good faith. Only to find us in your trash! Yes your trash! We don’t like that stuff. It’s the state of affairs I’m afraid. So if you have subscribed to us, check your junk mail and please pull us out and “white page” us, whatever that means. Basically mark us so that we don’t keep ending up in the trash. We are pretty lazy and are not going to write to you unless we have something to say. So please try to keep us out of the garbage. Lots of love and best wishes to you all and remember to recycle xx
Why GetaGuru?
A question we get a lot. In 1999 we decided it was time to make some changes in our then 67 year old business. We needed to shake things up a bit and we decided to change our name. I would love to tell you that we sat on top of a mountain for 7 days and 7 nights fasting until a vision hit us like a lightning bolt, but the name came to us as we were driving to Home Depot. We do not think we are Gurus. To us GetaGuru means get a passion. Get something in your life that you love with every fiber of your being and make that your Guru. It can be anything that works for you. This is our philosophy in both business and life.
Little did we know that the internet was about to go nuts with everyone being Gurus. Online a Guru is another word for expert or genius. A go to person for whatever you need. So this is the fascinating story of why we are GetaGuru.com
eleni here-on the way to home depot our first brainstorm was ‘get THE guru’ but something about it didn’t set well. we were sort of wondering ‘which guru is THE guru’ so the alternate option was of course ‘get A guru’ where it took on a totally different vibe & was (more or less) our philosophy on life.
Hot from the Press Guru
Finished most of the spring cleaning. Now trying to get the hang of Word Press. So far I love it and can’t wait until I know how to use it. Meanwhile you may get the occasional message that makes no sense. Sorry about that 🙂
